Looking Forward To 2009

As we move forward in the year 2009, let's be reminded that everyone on the street will be talking about the retrenchment (particularly Western Digital), inflation and the gloomy economy, and the uncertainty of future. We maybe sucked into this depressing feeling.
One thing we need to be keep reminding ourselves, the future is in our hand. We have to strive on with gusto. And it begins with our mind. So be sure to feed it with good stimuli. Here is one for all:

2009 just ushered in yesterday but the outlook for 2009 doesn't seem to be encouraging. Lay-off news (what happen to Western Digital) which will affect 1,500 workers of Kuching and the banking crisis, liquidity squeeze..... are clouding the outlook of 2009. With this backdrop, the Year 2009 will be full of challenges. We must device strategies to over come the challenges ahead. Hope that the team members are able to paddle through the challenges ahead and their internet business will take off successfully!

An Open Space

Hi all,

I have been indeed inspired this week knowing that we have some great bloggers in Kuching. I would like particularly mentioned this Kuching lady Ms Elina. As she describes herself "I juggle my hours between holding the role of a mom to two hyperactive kids, wife to a Big Kid, daughter, employee and blogger. The hours are never enough for me but getting to know so many awesome bloggers & sharing the opportunities and fun of reviewing great family friendly products have been a great source of motivation for running this community." Yet in the midst of all these she was able to start her own few blogs, one of which I would like to mention in particular parent reviewers - a blog committed to reviewing toys, games, books, children clothings and generally anything any parent would like to know before they buy for their children. She started this blog sometime in April this year and the blog has already acquired a google PR status of 3/10! When I contacted her, she was modest in saying that she has not made much money yet, but I can predict that she will be able to have some good passive income from this blog in the not-too-far future. Refresher Course At Derric's Boot Camp

This is the most recent email I received from Mr. Derric. I believe some of you may have received this email already. For the info of all of us, I feel obliqued to post it here.

Dear Justin,

I have received many requests from the 1st batch of Kuching students to attend my forthcoming 3 days bootcamp as a refresher course to be held in Kuching from 19th to 21st December 2008. At the moment I am unable to commit on any assurance that there will be any places available until aftermy 2nd preview in Kuching on Friday, 28th November 2008, at the Harbour View Hotel, Kuching. Even if there are seats available, it will be offered on a first come first serve basis. Students who are keen will have to pay a fee of Rm350.00 for this 3 days refresher course. The reason for the fee is mainly to cover for the rental cost of the computer laboratory which is a truly 5 Star state of art computer lab located in the heart of Kuching town and also for the 2 tea breaks. An email on this on offer will be sent to you by the first week of December 08, provided there is still any seats available as the computer lab can only hold 20 paxs maximum.

An email came in today that linked me to an inspiring blog. This blog is simply AWESOME, you must it see for yourselves. It was started by a 13 year old Filipino boy just barely one and half year ago. At first he started blogging on his interests like music, gaming online or some technie things. That did not get him anywhere. But a few months ago, after some brainstorming sessions with his father, he re-launched his blog www.carlocab.com, with one of the most difficult, highly competitive keyword phrase competing with the thousands of internet marketing gurus, adults and giants. Yet he stood up after few months later to rank in page one of google search for the keywords "make money online"! Read the story of this boy at this link. It is simply INSPIRING!

Helping One Another

Today post will be a concrete way to show that we can help one another. I read the comments in the earlier post where Jing Lee asked Francis how to add a hyperlink to some of the keywords in his comments. Attempting to help answer that question through the comment prove quite a task. At the same time, it may be helpful for some who wish to know how to add a hyperlink to their websites in the comment box.

Here is the way to do so.

1. The command for creating hyperlink is
a href="http://www.yourURL.com"
2. This command must be placed within <>
3. The whole command which is already in the <> should be before the keyword(s) that you wish to highlight,
4. Then you need to close it with the pairing command /a, which must be placed within <>

Perhaps the following explanation in the form of image is clearer.

Derric's Workshop

The latest news about Derric is that he is coming back on 28th Nov 2008 for a second preview. First session is 2 to 4 pm while the second session will be from 7:30 to 9:30 pm @ Harbour View Hotel.

This is what I have gathered in my last meeting with Derric. I believe that he is willing to help anyone who is pro-active, who will come to him to ask for any assistance. The next workshop will be scheduled on 19th to 21st Dec 2008. Maximum space available for new intake will be 20 to 24. In the event that there are lesser number of sign-ups, Derric is open to allow some of us to sit in. Please come in to see him during this coming preview. Talk to him, express your desire and if there are available places, that would be a golden opportunity for you.

By the way, the new venue will be at Edict Sdn Bhd, where they have one of the top-notch computer lab in the whole of Malaysia. Edict Sdn Bhd is just behind Hongkong Bank.

Commit And Focus

Hi all,

I just want to share with all of you this message: "COMMIT AND FOCUS". All of us paid quite a sum to attend Derric's workshop, all because we believe Internet Marketing is the Business. We all aspire to make money online, to be the next internet millionaires. Now, all too often, some of us may be frustrated by our lack of internet skills, inability to find a niche market, not enough time, family or office commitment or whatever. Remember, all of these are but "excuses". To put it simply, we have to remain COMMIT to and FOCUS on this cause. Ask around, you will discover that there are number of us who have started on this journey of internet marketing quite a while ago and somehow get discouraged or distracted. Yours truly is no different. That is why my first message here for all of us, particularly myself, is to remain COMMIT and FOCUS.

This blog is set up basically to help everyone to stay COMMIT and FOCUS. Communication with one another is therefore very important. Each one on us must be pro-active in whatever we want to do, be it that you want to re-attend Derric's workshop or getting others to help in your weak areas or whatever. The golden rule is to ASK, SEEK and KNOCK. I am sure there is always someone who is willing to help you if you will ask.
